Happy Halloween! French rights sold!!!

Holy cow y'all! Nightshifted and Moonshifted are going to be published in France, by the publisher J’ai Lu! :D :D :D I got the email this morning!

This publisher appears to also do Charlaine Harris's novels in France, which is rad :D. I cannot wait to see how they do my covers over there! :D

This sale really propelled me today on my Moonshifted edits. I made a little photo montage along the way, so here we go:

This was the view from this morning, with the whole thing sitting there on my desk. Looks like a lot of work!

Then I went out to a Starbucks and pulled out all the pages that didn't have any marks on them. That would be the smaller stack on the right.

This is at the end of the workday. (Please ignore my couch, used only for staging laundry and trips to storage.) All the edits on the left most stack are done. (There was an embarrassing amount of comma removal in there, oy.) The center stack is the "Go Back" stack for edits that required more thought, and the right most stack is the pages I didn't get to yet. I made it through page 348 of 429 this first pass.

I also have a small stack of comments where my editor said nice things. I figured I'd pull those out to take heart when things feel dire in a day or two, but I didn't take a picture of them ;).

And last, but not least, the delicious cupcake reward for my sale and so much progress tonight:

That's mint-chocolate-chip-victory right there.

Now I have to fold a mountain of post-WFC laundry and get to bed to start again tomorrow. I'll finish off my first easy-grammar-comma pass, and then start making headway on all the larger stuff.
