Wiscon Day 1

Made it into Wiscon today!

We got up at 4 AM PST to travel out here...and I got up at 2 AM and couldn't get back to sleep before that, so it's been a low-sleep day. The travel here wasn't bad though (with the exception of being backscattered and groped by TSA :P) and we got a nap in this afternoon before a lovely dinner with awesome friends. I got to see Rachel's Nebula in person, and bump into a ton of friends at the bar :D.

I got an amazing amount of work done on the plane, so that was nice -- and my commitments for the rest of this con are very casual compared to ones I've had in the past. (I'm not hosting any parties this year, for instance, and thank goodness for that! I lack the strength!) Tomorrow I'm the pro for a section of the novel writing workshop, which I'm really looking forward to, and then I have a lunch date and a reading to attend in the afternoon :D.

Saturday I have a panel in the morning on 1000 ways to die, which'll be easy for me, based on hospital experiences -- and then Saturday afternoon I have the Taboo reading. I was going to read an older story, but I just finished writing the best sex scene ever which I am very proud of...and which makes it under the word count for the reading time available...so now I'm gearing myself up to read that. I can do it. I can talk myself into it. I have over 24 hours and a full bar to abuse to make this happen, heh ;). If i keep telling people I'll do it, I'll have to do it, so there.

Anyhow, bedtime now so I can be chipper for the workshop tomorrow :D. Nite all :D
