And that's why I can't leave nursing. Did some intense stuff this past weekend and while at the time it was overlong and hot and endless and exhausting...in retrospect, it was freaking awesome. When it's not just babysitting drunks or the elderly, when you've got your hand on the rudder of someone's life? That feeling is fucking rad.
But back to the book. I didn't have any time to work on it for the past 3 days. Now I have a week off, and Wiscon coming up. At Wiscon, I'll be the pro for a novel workshop, I'll be on some panels, and I'll be part of the Taboo reading, which I'm thrilled about.
I love the story I'm going to read -- since the theme is taboo...well...let's say my story nails the theme. So to speak, of course. ;)
Off to bed for now (no matter how much my body thinks it's revving up right now, we're not, we're going to sleep, body, riiiight now) and then up and off to a bright start tomorrow morning and my transition to CST on Thurs ;).
